PTT Station Sam Rauy 3 is located in Ban Sang District, Prachin Buri Province. The property has a rectangular shape. The front is facing the sunrise in the east, located directly next to the highway. The back is facing west to Bang Pakong River, which is a major river in Prachin Buri Province. The arrangement of the zoning for this side is to be a restaurant and a Café Amazon to get a view of the river, which is the highlight of this project.
The layout of the buildings is arranged to be in a U-shaped with a gas station in the center and a group of retail buildings surrounded it. The access sequence is based on the invisible order of the buildings. Café Amazon building is arranged to be highly stand-out as to clearly visible to the customers, then retail buildings near the river. These retails are designed as a 2-story building. The owner wanted the second floor of the retail buildings to be his own residence and wanted to be able to see the panoramic view of the river from the inside of the building.
The layout of the two main buildings is designed to communicate the context of the river by designing buildings that are symbolized a light reflection on the rhythmic ripples spread across the surface of the river. The designer has used the element of curved concave corners to decorate the walls on every section of the columns, which extends along the two floors, rhythmically around the building and under the overhanging eaves that extends to protect the heat from the sunlight on both east and west sides. The sunray shines on the curved concave corners of the walls will create shadows that look like waves moving up and down according to the angle of the light that strikes on each side and change according to the orbit of the sun.
The principle of light and shadow of this concave corner is like light reflects off of water waves, creating a shimmer effect of light and shadow. The building is mainly white, which makes the color tones change according to the atmosphere in the sky at different times of the day; yellow-orange in the morning, blue-white in the daytime, orange-red in the evening, and dark blue black at night.
