Suksun Metal office and warehouse
Sisaket

The project owner wants to expand his steel business and warehouses in various provinces in Northeastern of Thailand. There are two existing branches in Surin and Buriram provinces. The new branches will be in Mahasarakam and Si sa ket province.

The project in Si sa ket province has a rectangular plot with a long narrow strip and the breadth facing the main street. There is an existing large tree in front of the land and empty plots on both sides. The plot is visible from the street. The office and warehouse has been design in a rectangular shape as same as the plot. The office has been placed on the east while the warehouse is on the west side of the plot to prevent solar heat to the office.

The office is designed to interlock with the warehouse. The east side of the office has a screen façade to prevent heat transfer into the office. The façade is representing a contemporary style using steel panels to create opening voids to prevent light enter into the building and steel grating to filter light and reduce heat gain into the office.

The warehouse is designed to standout on the street, using steel battens to mimic the gable roof. The battens overhang from the wall to create light and shadow on façade of the warehouse. The shadow traces the path of the sun during the day, creating different dimensions and interesting effects on the buildings during time intervals. The elements of the building reflect the steel industry business and mark a brand stick in customers’ memories.
